- Sagging ceiling sections

- Patches after a plumber or electrician opens a wall
Planning to lose an old textured ceiling too? See our Popcorn & Stucco Ceiling Removal page.
How drywall repair works
Most repairs follow the same steps, from your first photo to the final coat of paint.
- Send us a few photos, and we’ll reply with a free, itemized quote.
- At the visit, we cut out the damaged area and add backing where the patch needs support.
- Tape and joint compound go on in thin coats, with drying time between them.
- Sanding follows, with the floor covered and the dust kept to the work area.
- Primer and paint finish the repair to match your wall, as your quote describes.
Water-damaged walls and ceilings
A brown stain or soft spot means water got in, and new drywall can’t stop it coming back. A plumber or roofer needs to stop the leak first.
Once the area is dry, we cut out the wet board, replace it and finish the ceiling so the stain is gone.
Plaster or drywall?
Many older Toronto homes still have plaster walls over wood lath. Plaster cracks differently from drywall, and a patch has to bond to the old surface.
You’ll get a repair that suits the wall you have, so it stays sound and paints evenly.
Texture matching
Smooth walls are the easiest to blend. Textured walls and ceilings are harder to match exactly, so you’ll know how close a patch can get before we start.
Painting after the repair
A touch-up over the patch is the quickest option, but fresh paint can look brighter than the old wall. For a repair you can’t spot, painting the full wall corner to corner usually works best.
If the whole room needs fresh paint, our interior painting service can follow the repair.

Can you make the patch invisible?
On a smooth wall, a well-feathered patch and fresh paint usually disappear. Painting the whole wall gives the most even result, because new paint can look different beside old paint. Strong side light can still show small changes.
Do you paint after repairing?
Yes, primer and paint can be part of the job. Your quote shows whether we touch up the patch or repaint the whole wall.
Can you fix plaster walls?
Yes. Plaster cracks and holes are common in older homes, and we repair them so the wall paints evenly again. Loose or crumbling sections may need more work, which we explain first.
Do you repair water-damaged ceilings?
Yes, once a plumber or roofer has stopped the leak and the area is dry. We replace the damaged board, then tape, sand and paint the ceiling to match.
How many visits does a repair take?
Often more than one, because each coat of joint compound needs to dry before the next. Small patches need less time than larger ones. Your quote shows how many visits to expect.
Can you do several patches in one visit?
Yes. Grouping patches saves time, because each coat dries while we work on the next one. Send photos of every spot, and we’ll plan them together.
