Plaster, drywall or concrete
Plaster over lath cracks under a careless drill, and concrete needs a hammer drill. Drywall on its own holds very little, so heavy items go into studs or rated anchors.
You’ll know which fixing we plan for each item before any holes go in.
Floating shelves
A floating shelf hides its bracket inside the shelf, so all the weight hangs on a few steel rods. What it holds depends on the bracket, the shelf depth and what’s behind your wall.

Gallery walls and mirrors
A gallery wall looks best when the spacing is even and the frames line up. Before any holes go in, we lay out the arrangement with you on the floor or with paper templates.
Large mirrors often need a support cleat along the bottom edge as well as the hanging hardware.
Closet systems
IKEA, Elfa-style and wire closet systems hang from a top rail or wall standards. Your rail goes in level and into solid backing, so a full closet stays put.

Can you hang a heavy mirror on plaster or concrete?
Yes. Plaster needs careful drilling and fixings that reach the studs, and concrete takes concrete anchors. Very heavy mirrors may also need a support cleat along the bottom edge.
Do you install IKEA or Elfa closet systems?
Yes, along with wire systems and simple closet rods. We fix the top rail level and into solid backing, so it holds a full closet.
How much weight can a floating shelf hold?
It depends on the bracket, the shelf depth and the wall behind it. A shelf fixed into studs holds far more than one on drywall anchors. Tell us what will sit on it, and we’ll suggest the right set-up.
Can you hang shelves and a TV in the same visit?
